Thanks to Citizen Project funding Preston Manor School were able to hold the first ever Brent School Council meeting.
The conference brought 11 schools together to share good practice and improve School Councils in the Borough.
The conference was a huge success, thanks to the hard work and organisation of the Preston Manor Students.

Exmouth Community College, Exmouth
4 boys and 4 girls from the college were undertaking an expedition to Resolute Bay in the High Arctic last Easter. Once there, in addition to flying up to the North Pole to met a Navy/Marine expedition, they took part in a whole series of cultural experiences. These experiences were designed to give the students a much greater understanding of the world around them. All of the students going on the expedition were committed to then communicating and sharing these experiences either live via the website back to our community or by giving presentations to people from within the Exmouth Community, ranging from Primary School students to Business people.

have set up a recycling project called 'Refuse
to Waste!'.
Below
you can see photos of their trip to the
Design Museum London where they took workshops
in designing products from recycled materials.
You can also see the winning design of their
Logo competition which was judged by the
Design Museum.

Colne Community School, Brightlingsea in
Essex
Students
from Colne Community School have used the
Citizen Project to set up an anti bullying
campaign within their school. This
has incorported setting up a student room/social
area and a peer mentoring facility. This
anti-bullying project is developing self
esteem and coping strategies in students
at risk from bullying.
